How to create a website for less than a 100$

For most people this phrase would sound either crazy or provoke images of a site that looks like the ones in the late 90s. I would like to prove you wrong. If you believe I will admit that websitefixes.com costs less than 100$ - no kiddin. How is this possible? Here's the action Plan

1. Choose your domain name and hosting.

Your domain name / url / is your first important part and expense / 12$ per year /. I would suggest to go with a combination of your brand and your primary keyword search.

Buying your hosting is your next step and actually 90% of the expense you will have to incur. You can go even cheaper however you will not control your website design and content in full which I do not recommend.

What is an affordable and reliable place to acquire hosting and a domain? - HostGator will get you up and running in no time with their affordable hosting plans. Click here for more information.

2. The CMS

This is the engine almost all new websites run on. Wordpress is what I currently explore and my respect towards this cms grows daily. My website website is built on Joomla - also free and very well known CMS. I do intend to write a detailed post of "wordpress" vs "joomla" in the near future. For the purpose of this project wordpress wins because it is easier to work with out of the box and has better SEO performance for beginners.

Installing Wordpress is easy with this guide  or some videos from youtube. If this is over your head you can ask the hosting provider to do that for your or send me an email and I will help you ( limited offer :) )

3. Skin your site - Wordpress has thousands of free templates to choose from and the coolest feature is that you can search for them within the admin panel once you are logged in / Dashboard -> Appearance -> Add New. You can also look on search engine for free wordpress templates. There is a lot of choice.

4. Plug in It:) - Wordpress has a myriad of plugins for everything. This phase does take some time and again if you need a specific function that you can't install right off the bat just use the quick contact form on the right to call for help!

5. Content is king - Before you start putting on content you can download for free this great addon for Mozilla Firefox that will help you discover what search terms are people using and as you incorporate them in your content, url, pictures and internal links you do the best on-page optimization for maximum results.

6. Links are the queen -  No king is quite successful without a great queen behind him. It is a catch 22 as good content will get you links but with no links nobody will see your good content. The solution is - Start Promoting. Start submitting your site to different directories, engage your community with the advice you have to offer, contribute to article sites and of course use the power of Social Media.

But how all this ties together?

I am working on a Linking Master Plan that will be available for download this month that will get you a steady stream of links.

If you can't wait check this great set of FREE videos by Perry Belcher . In exchange for your email you will get ton of good quality tips. I know because I read tons of stuff everyday and most of it is junk.

So who said you can't get good stuff for cheap. On the Internet it may as well be the case that the best stuff is FREE.

10 Best Places to incorporate your niche keywords

The exhausting keyword research is over and now you have the most comprehensive least of search terms related to your business. Here are the 10 Best Places to put your keywords in

1. Domain Name

Your domain name should include your primary keyword and based on the domain availability it should or not include your brand. Avoid long domains with a lot of dashes. A catchy phrase or your primary keyword and your company name would suffice.

2. URL Structure

Develop a website that has clear URL structure and allows you to incorporate your keywords easily. My preference is for Wordpress and Joomla.

3. Meta Data

The title tag is still deemed the most important factor in search engine rankings and optimization standards.  Be creative and concise, this is your shot to grab the free traffic from top 10 results  /when you get there :)/. By the way, I still put meta keywords in although some people don't.

4. Content Title

Latest SEO trends advise that your content title in h1 tag is not a ranking factor in more. True or False, having a catchy title with your keyword phrase would help so I would still recommend it.

5. Content

Repeat your primary keyword and use related terms throughout the content wherever feels natural. Nobody would read stuff that looks like its made for robots. Once every hundred words on a 2 page copy is a good rule for thumb.

6. Content Links

It is always good to provide links to other resources on the same topic you are writing on or links to other pages of your site. Use your keywords in the link description or anchor text.

7. Pictures

All images should have descriptions that could contain your keyword. Another place that is deemed to have lost its significance towards search engine rankings but nobody would say that is 100% sure so if you can and it makes sense for your customers - use it.

8. Social Media - Your content/site is ready and you need to let the world know. Tweet about it, comment on fellow blogs page, help people on forums and mention it as a good resource of related information. Within those lines try to use your keywords near or in the anchor text of your site link.

9. Incoming Links - Should be totally #1. Nothing has more power than the anchor text within a link to your site. Sadly this is the hardest thing to control - how people link to your content. However if you are really serious about this you can run an extra mile for the links that you have from the most authoritative sites and ask their webmasters to change it if they may so they can help you rank better. LinkDiagnosis is a great tool for that purpose.

10.  Huh? - :)  - Come on all, lets see what you think? Did I miss something or put too much? Make your comment and help me fill number 10.
